The PFR-15 MOD (Modern) Recce Upper Receiver is our take on what the Recce rifle should be today. Built around years of barrel development, suppressor testing, and real-world refinement, this upper delivers the accuracy, reliability, and smooth shooting characteristics we've come to expect from a purpose-built Recce platform.

The heart of the system is our 15.1" match-grade, fluted stainless steel barrel, manufactured in-house by Craddock Precision. Designed specifically around the Allen Engineering AEM5K Suppressor, the barrel comes equipped with a pinned and welded Forward Controls Design / Allen Engineering muzzle brake, bringing the overall barrel length to a compliant 16 inches while maintaining the handling characteristics of a shorter rifle.

Developing this barrel also led to the creation of our proprietary CAT-1 Gas System. After countless hours of testing, tuning, and refinement, we engineered a gas system that delivers an exceptionally smooth recoil impulse while maintaining reliable function both suppressed and unsuppressed. The result is a rifle that shoots flatter, cycles consistently, and stays comfortable through extended range sessions.

The 12.3125" American Animal Arms Lights Out Rail complements the rifle with features designed for modern equipment. The integrated SLIC™ Cable Management System protects light and laser cables while providing clean routing options and dedicated 45-degree mounting locations for accessories. Anti-rotation tabs, a stainless steel barrel nut, two M-LOK rail covers, and two cable management covers are all included.

Rounding out the upper is our premium DLC-coated Bolt Carrier Group, featuring a concentrically ground carrier and our twice-straightened firing pin for enhanced consistency and durability. The system is finished with the Sentry Manufacturing DEADLOCK™ Charging Handle, designed to help reduce gas blowback and improve shooter comfort when running suppressed.

Every component on the PFR-15 MOD was selected with one goal in mind—to build a Recce upper that performs as well in the field as it does on the bench.
